how it was explained to me and I don't know how much of it is substance and how much of it is just fluff but I was told an emo is more of the whole 'woe is me' kind of attitude and a goth is more poetic and thoughtful and more 'oh woe is everyone else'. I hope this helps a little bit love

Thanks Jack, that helps too. Good to see you back! Pretty funny that Peter Parker turned Emo lookin when he became "asshole Spidey." However, lot's of great goth bands are melancholy... I guess there's just an important distinction between whining and brooding! Personally, I love brooding music. Then I have to switch gears and blast some aggressive shit. The band Scarling is a good example of that, or Opeth, etc. And whiney preppies in vans and cords can piss off, whether theyre emo or not.

even in an accepting society there are classifications of who the wuss whiny bi()#, its not neccarly the "true view" of what most of us would like to achive but..... Emo; emotional, music, poetry and attitude.

its like a depressed goth in cords and vans insted of chrome and leather lol

the hair is the thin "evil" peter parker is sportin' in spider man 3 (good if a bit comical with the acting on tobys part)

other than that id say eh what ever just dont whine at me lol

yeah, wikipedia says Hawthorne Heights is emo (or screamo) I don't get why weezer would be, but I only know a few of their songs. Hey, thanks for the smarts, I'm still not clear on why goths and emos are antagonistic though
