wow, I guess I really havn't read much of the new crop of vampire novels in the bookstore. I have to say that I still love the classics... Bram Stoker's Dracula, Sheridan LeFanu's 'Carmilla' and the modern classic, Anne Rice's 'The Vampire Lestat.'
I've read The Vampire Tapestries... The Secret Life of Laszlo, Count Dracula (which is more about a serial killer than a real vampire) ... "The Golden" is a cool vampire novel (I love when vampires are sexual) .... and for a funny and cool vampire story, "Bloodsucking Fiends" by Christopher Moore is great!
What does everyone think of the Laurel K. Hamilton books or the Kerrelyn Sparks "Love at Stake" series?

I've always liked bram stokers dracula, kinda like the beginning of everything, ann rice writes awsome vampire books i've only read one but heard reveiws from The Vampire Lestat from our own admin, even yes i am immature i still love to read teen novals like "Kissing Coffins" which so far is a four book set about a goth girl who wants to become a vampire and final a new arrival comes to her town (which she calls dullsville) a spooky family that moved into the mansion she used to sneak into, then she meets up with the teenage boy of about 17 and she finds out his deepest secret but as soon as part of the town trys to except him and they become boy/girlfriend, he vanishes along with his family, now she is searching for her boyfriend but when she finds him she realizes she led danger right to him, which is the reason he left! now they are fighting off this danger coming in 1 person, holding up the scheme that she is a vampire like her boyfriend so this danger person does not take her to sacred burial grounds to make her his for eternity! ok so i'm on book 3 right now and i'm reading fast and that summary is just right of the top of my head. i also love reading darren shans "Circue De Freak" i'm not gonna go into detail of that because it's a 12 book set i believe and i stopped at like 9 when my favorite character died. but yeah i'm a vampire fanatic every since i could remember i stayed up late watching bram stokers dracula and everyother vampire movie while i was supposed to be in bed, and i would wish every night that a bat would fly in my window take form of a beautiful boy and turn me, i still hope so these days just not a boy, someone who can actually handle me.

life does not demand death, death demands the end of life, and let me tell you, i stared death in the face and had the time of my life.{a quote by me!!}

I really really like Laurel K. Hamilton's "Halfway to the Grave"...it's about a girl who's mother was raped by a vampire while he was changing into a vampire and this girl was born half human, half vampire...she meets another vampire who is a hitman but for vampires,he gets paid to kill other vampires...they run into each other and become an unlikely love affair when they are both after the same vampire...the love story is sexy and sensual.

'Interview with a Vampire' has an absolutely beautiful graphic novelization published by Innovation circa 1991. Absolutely lovely. I managed to swipe all 12 up at a really nice price. I think they did 'The Vampire Lestat' as well, though I've not seen it more than once, and even then, I question my memory. I like comics moreso than novels, because I'm very visually driven. I'll root through my collection and see if I have anything. Unfortunately, if I cannot remember them, they must not be that fantastic.
