I make poetry video recitals of my poems. My poem "The Song of Makeda" is Queen Makeda (Queen of Sheba)'s reply to the love poem The Song of Solomon from the old Testament. Makeda was Ethiopian. I am hoping to find a black (African) actress to recite a couple of verses from this long poem, using her video web cam at her home, or getting a friend to film her with a camcorder. The reward would be paid by post in the form of a nice piece of gold or silver jewellery, possibly a bracelet or pendant.

The poem is on that page. Write down the verse you want to perform, put on a fancy queen of sheba style of headdress or hair beads, and recite the verse to web cam, then put it on YouTube and send me a message on Gothspace with the link. Also state what kind of jewellery you like... silver dragons & snakes? Gold stars? Garnets? I have a lot of great shops near me and also Sky shopping channels. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, I can send it to you by secure post.
The successful audition wins the jewellery, and I will use the video on AuthorsDen and other poetry websites. The actress's name will be credited in the credits, so it will be a good advert for her work. And the winner can also use the video as a promo/portfolio piece on as many of her own websites as she likes.
